The
following resolution was adopted by the Liberty Township Board at their
May 11, 2010 Regular Meeting:
DEDICATION RESOLUTION
LETHA L. BRITTAIN
THERE are individuals within a
community that, without fanfare, will dedicate themselves to ideals
that reach far beyond themselves. They show the fabric of their
soul with their actions and words that benefit everyone in their
community. Letha Brittain was such an individual.
LETHA Brittain’s life is a
testament to the way she set events in motion by her quiet,
forthright resolve to achieve her many goals and aspirations. Letha
and her husband Charles formed a marriage that has lasted the test
of time and tribulations, raised a family, and established a
business within the township that has left its footprint on life in
the Jackson and surrounding areas for all to see.
DURING the course of living a
full and committed life, Letha gave of herself to others in many
ways too numerous to mention. For the residents of Liberty Township
however her commitment and dedication to our welfare and safety is
so very obvious. For over a decade Letha served on the Liberty
Township Fire Committee as a member and also as its Chairman. Her
steadfast dedication to the improvement within the fire department
and the guidance she provided resulted in many new safety equipment
purchases resulting in the safety of our firefighters and
residents. While always a team player in the process to bring about
improvements to the fire department, it was her leadership that
provided the glue that bound the organization. Her example will long
be remembered.
THEREFORE be it resolved that
that on this 11th Day of May, 2010 that the BOARD OF
TRUSTEES for the TOWNSHIP OF LIBERTY hereby Dedicates to the Memory
of Letha L. Brittain, the Liberty Township Fire Station. Here after
to be known as the Letha L. Brittain Fire Hall.
